I’m about to share with you why I believe both authenticity and adaptability can co-exist...and why you should cultivate both to live your Best Life.
One of the keys to living your best life is authenticity—which is why it’s one of 7 Checkpoints on the Best Life Map! I don’t believe it’s possible to be professionally and personally aligned unless you’re living true to yourself and your core values.
Over the course of my professional career, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from diverse cultures and myriad of professional and personal backgrounds. In addition to my formal education, my travels and experiences have served as valuable case studies as
to how people make choices in their life each day. It’s been and continues to be an indispensable education all its own.
Here in the Best Life Map Community, I talk about overcoming limiting beliefs and fears as a way to become adaptable, evolve and build resilience.
Adaptability allows you to embrace change and new ideas. Adaptability allows you to be versatile in approaching challenges and opportunities. A willingness to learn is what’s at the heart of adaptability.
Then, how do you learn in the midst of a sea of information and a constant news cycle, social media and the Internet? I know it can be daunting and, at times, can tempt us into the comparison game. I also know it’s possible to take in the information thoughtfully and learn from other people and cultures...without losing your sense of self. It’s a fine balance! You do so by filtering all that you’re taking in and learning about through the lens of your core values. Mahatma Gandhi illustrates this point well: “Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation.”
You can assimilate new ideas and new information—without imitating. You can be adaptable all while being guided by your core values and aligning them to your goals.
So, it’s not only possible to cultivate both authenticity and adaptability...but also essential to living your best life and experiencing fulfillment and happiness.
Reply below and let me know how you are cultivating both authenticity and adaptability, okay? I’d love to hear how you’re maintaining the fine balance of gathering data while making the best decisions towards living your best life—an authentic life.
